Queen's Ltd.
He was born in South Korea in 1956 in the era of full of hope for building a new country after the Korean War (1950~1953). He had leadership from his boyhood by always being the centre of the group. He wanted to become a great politician but his family members blocked it while the political situation was horrible under the military base dictatorship in 1970's in S.Korea. Instead, being an engineer was recommended and he studied engineering.
He got military training at university days and became an officer in the Korean Army for his military duty of two and half years. After completion of the duty, he became an engineer and worked in many technology leading companies like Fairchild Semiconductor and BOSCH.
During 1989~1990, he worked in West Germany at BOSCH's automotive parts research centre near Stuttgart. He learned not only the leading edge automotive component technology but also the German working style i.e. steady and perfect completion. This attitude was kept in him for his whole life.
While there were many accidents like bridge collapse in S. Korea in the early 1990's, he wrote a book titled "AUTOBAHN" to enlighten German style working attitude to Korean people in 1993. He introduced many episodes that he experienced in Germany.
In 1999, he became a great consultant in S. Korea. He saved the $100,000,000 budget of the Korean government for solving the Y2K (millennium software bug) issue with a switch of ideas.
In 2000, he and his family emigrated to Canada. The aim was to put his children in a good educational system and to learn the Canadian political system for him as well. He worked at Queen's University as a member of a scientific research team. He contributed a lot with innovative ideas and German technology.
In 2004, he and his family moved into Oakville and became Canadian Citizens in 2005. By keeping doing engineering work, he equipped knowledge of other fields like accounting, finance, and business law.
He has a chivalrous spirit. When the incident of 19 missionaries from S. Korea had been kidnapped by Taliban in Afghanistan broke out, he initiated the rescue movement in Toronto and Washington D.C. He performed a one-man demonstration at the gate of the White House. One police officer in the White House passed his message to the President. And ended up, the US mitigate the policy of "No negotiation with terrorist" and withdrew the plan of an all-out attack. Later on, the 19 hostages were released as a result of the negotiation between the Taliban and S. Korean government. In retrospect it was the greatest moment in his life. The spirit of saving lives even if you don't know them is a character of a hero.
His challenge did not end. He accepted an offer from BOSCH that is working in China. It was a totally different world and the working field is marketing, far further than his career. However, he overcame and completed the job successfully in the period of contract. He got an understanding of Chinese society and economy. He expects this knowledge would be helpful in his political career in the future as well. During his stay in China, he supported the activity of the UN's economic development plan on the border between China and North Korea, individually as well.
He came back to Canada in 2011.
In 2011, the Libya crisis broke out. The innocent people were killed by the Libyan air force. He did chivalrous action again. He manipulated the situation covertly and induced "No Fly Zone" by sending recommendations to the UN and the White House timely.
In 2013, he challenged to establish his own business. With his own technological skill, he started Smart Phone Repair in Oakville and ran the business successfully over 12 years.
